In fact, it was the British who gave it´s name to this coast. We will walk along Trece beach and finally arrive at the Cementerio de los Ingleses (English Cementery), this was the site of many British shipwrecks through history (three important ones in the late XIXth century). Along this very protected track we can observe the Camariñas plants in risk of extintion. We will border the Dune of Monte Blanco, very important and ecologically protected dune (one of the highest in Europe). Soon we will find the Little fishing port of Santa Mariñas, leaving the little village in the distance. We descend to Loberas beach and find infront the rocky barrier of As Negras that has caused hundreds of shipwrecks. We leave the town of Arou to Percebeiras viewpoint, where we have a beautiful view of the town. We begin this morning with a short transfer back to Arou. We continue along the coast line to the beautiful beach and village of Arou from where we take the transfer back to the hotel in Laxe. The people of this town were condecorated by the British Crown for their help in all the shipwrecks through history. Continuing on to the beach and lagoon of Traba (important natural resort) arriving finally to the town of Camelle, heart of Costa da Morte, a little fisherman´s town where we can visit the Museum of the German Man, an excentric German baker who moved to the town in the 70´s to live a lonely live surrounded by nature and built his house and garden from an ecologically-respectful way. Starting off at the small fishing port of the town of Laxe and leaving on our way the beautiful church of Santa María de Atalaia (XIV century).Īfter leaving the town we will walk along the cliffs crossing the Furna da Espuma (where the effect of the waves transform the water into foam) and the Praia dos Cristales (where the sea has returned to the sand thousands of worn off multicolor cristals). It is a day to enjoy and stroll along the coast line. Today´s walk is full of beautiful beaches and natural landscapes of great interest.
